March 2026 Industry Newsletter - Notes from the CEO

Published on March 20, 2026

Dear Tourism Partner,

as we enter March, the energy across Southeast Volusia is unmistakable. Spring travel is ramping up, our events calendar is in full swing, and our destination continues to deliver the kind of authentic, welcoming experiences that visitors remember — and return for.

I want to extend sincere thanks to each of you for the role you play in that success. Whether you're managing accommodations, running a local attraction, providing dining and retail services, or supporting infrastructure and city operations — your work matters. You are what makes the New Smyrna Beach Area not just a place to visit, but a place to come back to.

Seasonal Highlights and Visitation Trends
We’re entering one of our busiest seasons, with spring travel already beginning to show strong numbers. Families, couples, and seasonal residents are all returning to enjoy the beaches, nature experiences, festivals, and downtown events that define our brand. Early indicators suggest that March and April will bring higher occupancy, robust dining and retail activity, and elevated interest in cultural and outdoor offerings.

Key Events and Opportunities

  • NSB Area 5Ks, Art Walks, and the Annual Springfest are drawing visitors into our downtown area and supporting local commerce.
  • We continue to encourage extended stays through regional promotion of our arts, history, and ecotourism — inviting guests to explore beyond the beach.
  • As the U.S. 250th anniversary celebrations gain traction, we’re working to align our storytelling with this national moment, positioning New Smyrna Beach’s rich history as a key draw for heritage travelers.

Operational Reminders

  • Please ensure your business listings, hours, and contact information are current on VisitNSBFL.com — it remains one of the most visited resources for our guests.
  • If you are planning events or activations this spring or summer, share them early so we can help promote them regionally.

Looking Ahead
As we continue through 2026, we remain focused on three priorities:

  1. Driving responsible, year-round tourism growth
  2. Strengthening support for our partners through resources and promotion
  3. Ensuring a high-quality visitor experience that complements the quality of life for residents

We are proud of what we’ve accomplished together so far this year, and we are committed to building on that momentum in the months ahead.

Thank you for your partnership, your hard work, and your commitment to the continued success of tourism in Southeast Volusia County.

Keep Traveling,
