November 2025 Industry Newsletter - Notes from the CEO
Dear Tourism Partner, as we step into November, I write with both gratitude and purpose. The past months have demonstrated, once again, the resilience and adaptability of our Southeast Volusia tourism community—from hotel front desks and restaurant kitchens to attractions and municipal services. Your efforts are the backbone of what visitors experience here in the New Smyrna Beach Area.
Current Outlook
- Fall weather is treating us kindly: cooler mornings, pleasant afternoons, and comfortable evenings. This is our slowest shoulder season, when visitor satisfaction tends to be high, and stays are more relaxed.
- Several hallmark events are ahead this month, including the Flamingo Follies Holiday Art Show on Flagler Avenue (November 8-9) which brings artisans, craft-lovers, and first-time visitors into town.
- Regular programming — from First Saturday art & artisan strolls on Canal Street, to the Sip & Stroll events and monthly vintage car shows — continues to offer engagement opportunities and steady foot traffic.
Opportunities & Priorities
-
Maximize November’s Momentum
This month offers us a chance to extend guest stays, promote local culinary and shopping experiences, and encourage off-peak visitation. Our marketing efforts will emphasize not just what visitors can do, but what makes the New Smyrna Beach Area unique—eco-adventures, arts & culture, seaside dining, quiet relaxation. -
Strengthening Collaboration
If you are launching special menus, extended hours, or themed events for the holiday season, please share the details so we can help amplify. -
Events & Planning for the Holidays
With Thanksgiving, the holiday buying season, and December events on the horizon, now is the time for planning. Consider inventory, staffing, special promotions, and partnerships. -
Sustainability & Responsible Growth
As visitation remains steady throughout the year, so do environmental and infrastructure pressures. We must continue to be good stewards of our beaches, waterways, and public spaces. That means supporting local conservation efforts and making operational decisions that protect what draws people here in the first place. We are doing our best by using our Leave No Trace stewardship plan.
What We Need From You
- Share information: events, special offers, or capacity changes so that our visitor information is accurate.
- Collaborating on storytelling: photos, guest experiences, and local culture are powerful tools.
- Maintain high standards of hospitality: the fall season’s word-of-mouth and reviews are crucial as many guests plan travel for winter and spring based on what they hear now.
Closing Thoughts
November presents a pivotal moment: to carry the performance of recent months into a successful holiday season and to build momentum into the early parts of 2026. I believe we have all we need — passion, product, place — to close out this year well.
Thank you for your continuing leadership, perseverance, and collaboration. I look forward to working together to elevate New Smyrna Beach and Southeast Volusia County as a destination of choice—not only for visitors, but for residents who take pride in our shared community.
Keep Traveling,
