October 2022 Industry Newsletter - Notes from the CEO
Dear Tourism Partner,
We realize many of our partners and residents are still dealing with the storm's aftermath. Please know, we will continue to reach out to partners individually, and we are available to help. Our hearts go out to everyone, and we wish you strength and support during the rebuilding process. Many resources are available locally or through FloridaDisaster.org.
The New Smyrna Beach Area Visitors Bureau office is temporarily closed due to flooding, but you may reach us at (386) 428.1600. Also, there are visitor guides and maps available out front, at the Visitors Bureau, for your guests. We hope to reopen by November 1st.
As of August, our fiscal year tax collections are up 15% from the the previous year. However, rising costs and inflation continue to mean a rising impact on domestic travel volume potential. Nevertheless, leisure travel continues to be a high priority for travelers, but we do anticipate the number of travelers may start to retreat.
We are also seeing that sustainable tourism continues to be a growing trend for travelers. We are expanding our sustainability program and we'll be launching a new campaign in the upcoming months to entice these travelers. We look forward to sharing our new campaign with you in the upcoming months.
Please reach out to us if we may be of assistance.
Tourism Touches You
